The Luce Cilindrica Suspension is a modular pendant light designed in 2025 by Ronan Bouroullec for Flos. Developed alongside the Luce Sferica pendant, it forms a parallel interpretation of the same lighting system, defined by a sequence of borosilicate glass cylinders arranged at regular intervals along a slim extruded aluminium spine.
A concealed dual LED system runs within the aluminium core, delivering both upward ambient illumination and focused downward light, each independently dimmable to finely control intensity and spatial effect. In contrast to more diffused-glass forms, the cylindrical elements of Luce Cilindrica produce a clearer optical definition of the light source, reinforcing its architectural presence. The continuous aluminium spine remains visually restrained, allowing the rhythm and spacing of the glass modules to define proportion and length.
