Petite Friture’s Fromme Wood chair combines clean, streamlined design with subtle comfort. Its gently curved wooden seat features integrated shock absorbers, creating a soft, flexible feel. Crafted from matt-lacquered beech plywood, the Alpi version is defined by its bold black grain made using a coloured veneer developed by Ettore Sottsass with Italian specialists Alpi, and first seen in Memphis designs of the 1980s.
Tom Chung was inspired to create this chair by his bike's technical performance while cycling up Fromme Mountain, outside Vancouver. Chung sought to design a chair that utilises the efficiency of his bike.
