The Gubi Basket collection, designed in 1967, comprises a lounge chair, a two-seater sofa and a three-seater sofa. With its name honouring the classic hand-weaving craft of rattan basketry, the collection features similar construction.
The lounge chair's core structure is constructed with responsibly sourced steel, replacing the inner fibreglass shell that Joe Colombo initially envisioned. This structure provides strength and stability to the chair. Covered with a hand-woven rattan skin, made from interlaced strips and oval stakes, the lounge is a result of exceptional craftsmanship and skill.
Also available as a two-seater or a three-seater version.
