Improvisación Tapestry
Improvisación Tapestry by Gian Padilla for Nanimarquina.
Gian Padilla's Improvisación tapestry is a tribute to the ancient art of weaving, where women would create textiles without a planned design. Inspired by Jazz, the tapestry is weaved spontaneously, with the weft representing the melody and the warp depicting improvised solos.
Despite only using three colours, a range of greys and neutral tones, the tapestry uses its simple palette to create new graphic forms.
Crafted from Afghan wool, a material that plays a part in its authentic and rustic appearance, the wall hanging invites warmth to any room it is positioned.
