The AJ Oxford was inaugurated in 1963 by the renowned Danish architect Arne Jacobsen for St Catherine's College in Oxford, a building Jacobsen designed himself in a modernist architectural style.

Initially designed as a table pin lamp for the institute's dining hall, which seated 350 people on long rows of oak tables, the light can still be found at St Catherine's College today.

The silhouette of the sleek, graphic light reflects the college's architecture. It is available in metal black/opal glass.

The metal black/opal glass emits a pleasant downward-directed light, softly illuminating the surface below through the three-layered mouth-blown opal glass, whilst the opal glass shade delivers an additional glow that creates a halo around the fixture.

The AJ Oxford Table Lamp is marked with the AJ logomark to verify the authenticity of design and production at Louis Poulsen.
