VL45 Radiohus Pendant

VL45 Radiohus Pendant by Vilhelm Lauritzen for Louis Poulsen.

Architect Vilhelm Lauritzen originally designed the VL45 light for the Danish broadcasting company's headquarters building in Copenhagen, known as the Radiohuset (now home to the Royal Danish Academy of Music).

This simple, functional and elegant design was originally manufactured by Louis Poulsen, becoming its most popular design when it was first released over eight decades ago.

Reissued to the original specification, the VL45 endures as a quietly elegant response to Lauritzen’s exacting design brief of creating a light that was able to radiate and provide a practical downlight, whilst also remaining easy to clean and replace the bulb.

The shade is designed to cast a uniform and gently diffused light. Downwards-directed light is produced from the opening at the base of the shade

In 2025, Louis Poulsen introduced two new finishes to the collection, a pale yellow and a warm amber.

Quickship is available for small opal finish only.
