Bokk Bottle Opener
Bokk Bottle Opener by Sigve Knutson for Nedre Foss.
Bokk was designed by Sigve Knutson with both artistry and functionality in mind. As a designer, Knutson is interested in how shaping materials can create unexpected outcomes, and he explores how our interaction with materials can shape our experiences.
Typically, Knutson crafts his designs by hand, believing that the direct process of shaping materials influences the final form. However, recognising that Bokk would need to be produced in larger quantities than a single artisan could manage, he created a two-part mould carved from plaster for casting.
Made from a blend of copper and tin, an ancient casting technique that dates back over 5,000 years is used.
When not being used as a bottle opener, Bokk doubles as an elegant sculpture, perfect for display on your kitchen counter or shelf.
