The Hobo pendant lamp is made from opaque glass blown into a curved basket constructed of brass. The visible suspension rope makes the lamp flexible and portable. The name Hobo refers to the old handicraft 'luffarslöjd' which were metalcrafts made in Småland where Swedish glassworks began. The homeless 'Hobos' used to sleep in the heat of the furnaces in the hot glass studios, making objects in bent metal wire.
The lamp's design captures the power and force of the moment when the red-hot molten glass hits the brass basket, bulging, stopping and getting its final expanded form.
