Created by design duo Mika and Julie Tolvanen, the Kumpu trivet is a sculptural and functional piece you can leave on your table. Taking its name from the Finnish word for "mound," each trivet is individually handmade using custom sand moulds. Produced in a heritage Swedish foundry with family craftsmanship spanning three generations, these pieces utilise locally recycled iron and reuse sand for subsequent trivets, creating a sustainable production cycle.
Each trivet is fitted with natural cork pads to protect your kitchen or table, and the cast iron is seasoned with vegetable oil, which can be re-seasoned for years to come. With their dimpled design, the Kumpu trivets elegantly elevate hot cookware, protecting your surfaces.
