D70 Sofa by Osvaldo Borsani for Tecno.
First introduced to the world at the Exhibition of individual furniture items in the 10th Triennale Exhibition in 1954 as a "patented divan bed", the D70 sofa emblematic to the newly formed Tecno.
The sofa features highly visible joints showcasing Osvaldo Borsani's design ideology of designing pieces of furniture that are innovative and sophisticated but technical and industrial in production.
The D70 consists of two pivoting wings on a metal frame with polyurethane foam-filled cushions. The opening mechanism can be operated effortlessly by using the lever which is secured with graduated plate holes. Use the sofa at any angle using the plate hole system, or fold down the backrest and the seat to form a bed.
The sofa is available with upholstery in fabric and leather with a satin nickel base. Other finishes are available upon request. Please view the pdf in the downloads section for finish and upholstery samples.
