Anni Albers Study for Do I Poster

Study for Do I Poster by Anni Albers for The Wrong Shop.

This 1973 colour study by Anni Albers was originally conceived as a wall hanging. Triangular patterns capture the delicate balance between structure and disorder in nature's crystalline formations. These motifs also showcase Anni's fascination for Mexican heritage and culture, influenced by her frequent trips to Mexico and her admiration for Mesoamerican designs.

Anni Albers (1899-1994) was a pioneering artist and textile designer during the 20th century. She began her career at the Bauhaus, revolutionising weaving by merging a traditional craft with the language of contemporary art. In 1949, she became the first woman and first textile artist to have a solo exhibition at MoMA.

This premium poster from The Wrong Shop is created in close partnership with the Josef & Anni Albers Foundation to honour her tremendous influence during the modernist era.
