Nathalie Du Pasquier Tote Bag

Nathalie Du Pasquier Tote Bag by Nathalie du Pasquier for twentytwentyone.

To coincide with our anniversary year, we introduce a new 2021 tote bag, the design created by artist and designer Nathalie Du Pasquier.

Entitled ‘Remembering Jaipur’, the designer states it has nothing to do with India but reflects her desire to demonstrate contrasts.

“I like the clash between things which have nothing to do with each other...to depict my lack of logic.”

Nathalie Du Pasquier

The exclusive design is a graphic, three-colour screenprint onto Fairtrade organic cotton and produced as an edition of 1500 pieces.

Nathalie Du Pasquier was born in France in 1957 and moved to Milan in 1979 to work as a textile designer. She is a founder member of the Memphis design group and since 1987 has dedicated herself to painting. Her themes surround objects or the landscapes of objects, and more recently, her work represents constructions that she builds from abstract elements.

The twentytwentyone bag series was conceived following our ‘Bags of Goodwill’ exhibition in 2007. The charitable event marked the company’s shift from plastic bags to paper and cloth and raised funds for the Fairtrade Foundation.

Previous bags have been designed by Robin Day, Industrial facility, Lucienne Day, Barber Osgerby, Jasper Morrison and R & E Bouroullec.
