Sciangai 50 Clothes Stand

Sciangai 50 Clothes Stand by De Pas, D’Urbino and Lomazzi for Zanotta.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Sciangai, the widely acclaimed and award-winning folding coat stand designed in 1973, Zanotta has created a special edition of the design in a mix of vibrant and cheerful colours.

The Mikado pick-up sticks game inspired Sciangi's design; each branch serves as a point of contact with the ground and has a specially shaped tip to hold coats and hats. A joint in the middle connects the eight solid beech-wood sticks, and when opened, they can be adjusted to fit the available space, creating a coat stand of varying sizes.

Sciangai 50 is a reproduction of a colourful pencil sketch discovered by Zanotta's new Art Directors, Fabio Calvi and Paolo Brambilla, in De Pas, D'Urbino and Lomazzi's studio. It is a playful and expressive object that adds a touch of authenticity and uniqueness to any space.
