The designers Torsten Thorup and Claus Bonderup met in 1969, at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, as students of architecture. They then went on to work together in the Danish architect, Henning Larsen's practice.
The modernist design duo created simple, refined and honest pieces which have become classics. These qualities culminating in the elegant and minimalist 'Semi pendants', which are still produced by Gubi today.
Together they have equally designed store displays for Georg Jensen, Finland's Arktikum Museum and the Elsinore harbour area.
