Helge Sibast

Helge Sibast (1908-1985) was a Danish cabinetmaker and designer who, following in the footsteps of his father Peder Olsen Sibast, not only showcased excellent carpentry skills but also displayed visionary design prowess. In the 1950s and 1960s, his minimalist, functional, and high-quality designs gained international acclaim, eventually making their way into the White House.

Among his most iconic creations are the Sibast chairs No. 7 and 8, both designed in 1953. The Sibast tradition continues into the 21st century through Sibast Furniture, reestablished in 2012 by Helge Sibast's grandson and his wife.
