Keiji Takeuchi

Keiji Takeuchi was born in 1977, in Fukuoka, Japan. he was brought up in New Zealand, where he studied product design, in 1999 winning the country's Best Design Award: Best student of the year. Later moving to Paris to continue his studies.

His career started at Naoto Fukasawa's design studio in Tokyo. After working there for seven years, he moved to Milan to open the designer's European office. In 2014 he started to work freelance, working with Takeuchi and Cappellini. 

In 2019, Takeuchi was invited by Fiskars Village Art & Design Biennale and its design curator Jasper Morrison to participate "social seating" project amongst 18 designers of his choice.  

Today Takeuchi is collaborating with various international brands such as Boffi, De Padova, Living Divani, Ligne Roset, Cruso, Ichendorf Milano and others.
