The &Tradition Thorvald Bench, designed by Space Copenhagen in 2026, celebrates the neo-classical artistry of Bertel Thorvaldsen and the vibrant spirit of Copenhagen, his native city.

Inspired by the artist’s creations and the museum dedicated to his work, the bench is part of an outdoor collection defined by elegant, sculptural forms that sit harmoniously in any environment.

Conceived as a flexible seating solution, the Thorvald Bench extends the dining experience to larger groups. Its solid yet understated structure aligns with the rest of the collection, making it easy to position across a variety of settings.
The bench is available with an optional seat pad offered in a choice of three upholstery fabrics.

Materials Dropdown

Crafted from powder coated steel in either ivory, warm black or bronze green.

The cushions are available upholstered in Heritage Papyrus or Heritage Char, a water-repellent, stain-resistant canvases made from 50% recycled acrylic, 47% acrylic, and 3% polyester, or in Marquetry Bora, a water-repellent, stain-resistant canvas made from 100% acrylic.
