CH45 Rocking Chair by Hans J. Wegner for Carl Hansen + Søn .
In 1965, Hans J. Wegner designed a collection comprising thirteen unique pieces for Carl Hansen + Søn; this was outside the norm for Wegner, who typically created chairs in pairs with different variations.
This furniture collection has a distinct Wegner identity, with clear Shaker references and a broader Nordic expression. Several pieces from the series, such as the CH44, the CH46 and the CH47, are still manufactured by Carl Hansen, with the latest addition, the CH45 Rocking Chair, joining them again in 2023.
Wegner was always fascinated with designing rocking chairs and took a systematic approach when designing the CH45. As a result, the chair is perfectly proportioned with a reclining backrest and uniquely curved armrests. These features enable you to sit comfortably, rock gently and rise effortlessly from the chair.
The CH45 is meticulously crafted with hand-polished surfaces and a woven seat made from 213 meters of paper cord.

Materials
Crafted from FSC-Certified Oak in a range of finishes (soaped, lacquered, oiled, white oiled, black lacquered) with hand woven seat in either natural or black paper cord.
Available with optional cushions in a range of upholsteries.
