LC6 table, 1928
LC6 table designed by Le Corbusier, Jeanneret and Perriand for Cassina.
The inspiration for the LC6 table was distinction and contrast between the loadbearing element and the luxurious tabletop. The frame of the table is robust and adjustable. The four supporting studs control the level of the tabletop and also act as a dividing element between the heavy base and the slender rectangular top creating the appearance that the tabletop is floating.
The base was designed using aeronautical steel, which was carefully welded for a seamless finish with sculpted angles and smooth, mitred corners.
