Riga fabric by Lucienne Day for Classic Textiles.
After graduating from the Printed Textiles department of the Royal College of Art in 1940, Lucienne Day's design career faced limitations due to the effects of the Second World War. As the restrictions of the war began to ease, she started to create modern furnishing textile designs that moved away from the bleakness of the war years.
Lucienne, an avid gardener, was captivated by the form of plants. This fascination can be seen in her early designs, which often featured abstracted motifs of pods, stems, roots, flowers, petals, leaves, and seed heads, lending them a seemingly botanical quality.
Lucienne Day printed textiles from the 1950s have been reissued and digitally printed in 12 different designs and many more colourways.

Riga repeats drop size 56.6cm, repeat width size 34.25cm, based on a fabric width of 140cm, print area 137cm.
Materials
Made of Linen Union, a linen-cotton blend.
Available with more lightfast pigment dyes, if using for curtains or blinds, or reactive dye for all other uses.
Please note: As Riga is made to order, there may be a slight variation in colour between different batches.
Suitable for curtains, blinds and light domestic upholstery use only, such as cushions/decorative chairs. Not appropriate for upholstered seating.
