The Søborg chair was designed by Børge Mogensen in 1950 as a functional and elegant plywood shell chair that could be efficiently produced using contemporary machining technology.
In 1952 Mogensen adapted his design to include a steel frame option, bringing his characteristic finesse and craft to a material he did not commonly employ.
The Soborg chair is also available with an upholstered seat, or upholstered seat and back. Fabric sample images can be viewed by following the links to the fabric manufacturer's website in the 'Materials' section. Sample fabric can be viewed at our showroom and shop.
Optional felt glides are available. Also available with wooden frame here.

Available with a steel frame in black or chrome, and seat and back in lacquered oak, oiled oak, black lacquered oak, or lacquered walnut.
