Pon table, 2015

Pon table by Jasper Morrison for Fredericia.

The Pon family of tables are Jasper Morrison's alternative to what he describes as "the overrated and badly named coffee table". This modestly sized and easily moved table can be placed wherever it is needed most and is robust enough to serve as a stool.

Pon is designed to present as a unified whole, with top, column and foot of the table integrated into a single form. This combines with the wood to lend the table a satisfyingly sculptural form.

Pon's stability and solidity make it ideally suited to contract use and ensures that it will sit harmoniously in a variety of domestic settings.

Available in four different sizes, which can be used separately or combined to striking effect.

Fredericia was first established as the Fredericia Stolefabrik (Fredericia Chair Factory) in 1911 and specialised in antique style furniture.

Fredericia was first established as the Fredericia Stolefabrik (Fredericia Chair Factory) in 1911 and specialised in antique style furniture.

In 1955 the languishing company was acquired by Andreas Graversen who scrapped the existing product line and created a new one with the help of young architect, Børge Mogensen.

The company was taken over by Graversen's son, Thomas Graversen, in 1995. He led the company into the new century with a more fluid approach to design and production. Together with designers like Nanna Ditzel, he created a number of internationally recognised furniture pieces while at the same time continuing to produce the best of Mogensen's designs.
