Violin Chair | Fully Upholstered

Violin Chair | Fully Upholstered by GamFratesi for Gubi.

The Violin chair is an understated dining chair designed by Italian-Danish duo GamFretesiThe name references the two parallel lines that run from the backrest to a horizontal bar beneath the seat, resembling the strings of a violin.

Inspired by the delicacy of a musical instrument, the chairs distinctive form and character is achieved in its geometry, symmetry and expert craftsmanship. The Violin chair references the timeless archetypal form of the dining chair but with contemporary expression. The backrest extends to partially support the arm for dynamic comfort.

“We would like to see the Violin Chair deployed in groups – the chairs create a series of lines around the table, like musical notes on a score. By creating a strong silhouette and distinctive signature, the identity of the Violin Chair is preserved no matter the material, edition, or context.” - GamFratesi.

Available in a slender steam-bent oiled walnut or oiled oak backrest, and upholstered seat and backrest. An upholstered seat version of the Violin chair is also available, please see 'Product range' below.
