G10 Floor Light by Greta Grossman for Gubi.
The Swedish designer Greta M. Grossman emigrated to the US in the 1940s where she played a significant role in defining the aesthetic of mid-century Californian design. An enthusiastic proponent of European modernism, her designs are noted for their lightness of form and elegant lines.
Grossman designed the G10 collection, consisting of a floor and pendant light, in 1950. It was her tenth product for the Swedish manufacturer Bergboms, hence the name.
The matt black coated aluminium shade has a slightly rough textured surface, contrasting with the polished brass arm to create a sophisticated version of the industrial task light.

Materials
Polished brass on/off switch located at the top of the shade. The interior of the shade is white with a satinised opal glass shade.
Base is matt black coated to match shade.
A tilt joint between the shade and arm allows the shade to be positioned in order to direct light as required.
Recommended light source:
E27 Fluorescent Max 15W or Max 42W Halogen (not included).
