In Between Armchair by Sami Kallio for &Tradition.
The In Between collection is inspired by the Scandinavian heritage of design and craftsmanship and Kallio's solid understanding of traditional woodworking techniques. Utilising his eye for ingenious detail, Kallio began with a single chair which has resulted in a series of furniture, including tables and chairs.
The interaction of positive and negative space is integral to In Between. The chair has been created using compression molding and woodturning. These two, traditional techniques produce light, thin, strong, and detailed designs, characteristics that are observable in the In Between collection.
The chair's back and side panels mimic the embracing shape of the low-swung, crescent back and armrest. The seat is set at a slight angle as are the legs. All in this chair is a light, elegant, and dynamically balanced piece of contemporary design.
The In Between armchair is also available with an upholstered seat. Please enquire for details.

Materials
The legs and the armrest are turned from solid wood and the seat and side panels are form-pressed from wood veneer.
