Barber Osgerby armchair, 2013

Armchair, Sofa Collection by Barber Osgerby for Knoll.

The Sofa Collection includes an armchair, two-seater, three-seater and four-seater, asymmetric and L-shape sofas, ottomans and stools.

Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby presented this project, their first for Knoll, at the Salone del Mobile 2013, as Knoll celebrated their 75th anniversary.

Each piece of this extensive range contrasts and balances the soft (curves) with the architectural (stitched seams). As Barber & Osgerby put it: “Given a sofa's scale and prominence in a room, we felt the pieces should be formally balanced and calm, expressing their character through details.”
