Inspired by history, this collection of traditional Indian flat-weave Dhurrie rugs recovers the essence of the rug both in its texture and in its use. For the desert nomads, a house is built on a rug, as it originally served to protect people from the ground. They represented an object of daily use; as well as providing comfort, they also defined the space.
The Tres rug has been reimagined for contemporary living, with the Tres Vegetal offering a unique blend of natural fibres including New Zealand wool, wool felt, and natural hemp. The addition of hemp fibre gives this rug an inherently rustic feel, with a lightweight but resistant quality. Biodegradable and sustainably sourced, the materials used in the Tres vegetal are evidence of Nanimarquina's commitment to responsible design.
Shades of beige, ivory, and off-white are expertly blended in this Indian flat-weave. A charming irregularity comes from the differing thicknesses of the fibres and their crossing points with one another.
