The Kumazasa plant is a species of Japanese bamboo which has been prized for centuries for its beneficial antibacterial properties. Kamuzasa leaves were traditionally used to wrap food, especially sushi, to preserve it and prevent it from spoiling. They were also used to make a variety of natural remedies to fight infection and promote healing.
Today, the Sasawashi company spins Kumazasa fibres into thread wh,ich can be woven into a variety of textiles that are light, lint-free and capable of absorbing twice as much moisture as cotton. They also have natural anti-bacterial and exfoliating qualities.
Sasawashi slippers combine these natural benefits with a distinctively Japanese simplicity of form.
Available in medium, large and extra large sizes. Medium fits European shoe size 38-39, Large fits size 40-41 and Extra Large fits size 44-47. Please note that these slippers have a wide fit.
