Verner Panton designed the System 1-2-3 chair collection in 1973 as part of a project to create a series of versatile seats with the primary focus on providing excellent seating comfort.
One critic remarked at the time of its design, "It will be a milestone in future furniture design. We have never before seen a chair designed and built like this series."
The dining chair features a distinctive S-shape, where the seat naturally flows to form the base. Despite its simple shape, the chair has a sculptural presence and can be used as a stand-alone side chair or as a collective around a dining table.

Base in round brushed aluminium or butterfly chrome plated steel, seat with VOSS foam.
