In 1973, Verner Panton designed the System 1-2-3 chair collection as part of a project to create a series of versatile and comfortable seats. The collection is distinguished by its S-shaped structure, where the seat seamlessly transitions into the base.
Despite its minimalist design, the chair exudes a sculptural presence. A critic at the time remarked, "It will be a milestone in future furniture design. We have never seen a chair designed and built like this series before."
The deluxe version of the chair features a quilted seat, providing the seat with a luxurious and refined elegance.
The System 123 series also includes a standard lounge chair and dining chair.
