Akari 3A floor lamp by Isamu Noguchi for Vitra.
In 1951, American/Japanese artist and designer Isamu Noguchi started to design the Akari Light Sculptures, a total of over 100 hand-made Shoji-paper models for table lights, standard lamps or ceiling luminaires. For the name of this lighting series he chose the word "akari", the Japanese terms for brightness and light, and also lightness.
Herman Miller has the sole license for the Isamu Noguchi collection in the U.S. and the Far East. Therefore the export of these products from the UK to the U.S. is not possible.

Materials
The Akari 3A fllor lamp is made with handmade washi paper and bamboo ribbing, supported by a metal frame.
The lamps are handcrafted in the family-run Ozeki workshop based in Gifu, Japan.
