The rear legs of a chair bear the majority of the weight of the user's body. Prouvé acknowledges this fact with characteristic succinctness in his design of the Standard Chair: the front legs take relatively little strain and therefore are made of tubular steel piping, while the back legs are made of voluminous hollow sections that transmit the weight down to the floor.
The Vitra original selection offers a 10-year warranty.

Frame in pressed sheet and tubular steel, powder-coated in Deep Black, Japanese red, Gris Vermeer, Bleu Dynastie, Blé Vert, Belu Marcoule or Blanc Colombe.
Seat and backrest in dark or natural oak, or black-pigmented walnut.
Please select from standard glides for carpet or felt glides for hard floor.
