The Courier Desk marks a pivotal moment in Ronan Bouroullec’s design career, revealing a refined vision shaped by years of artistic exploration and technical mastery. Launched by Vitra in 2025, this minimalist desk brings together the precision of industrial design with the sensitivity of Bouroullec’s hand-drawn artwork. These intuitive linework drawings are created with a Japanese felt-tip brush and inspires the desk’s graceful contours.
Stripped back to its essence, Courier is what Bouroullec calls a “naked solution”: a clean wooden surface elevated by sculptural aluminium legs. Its distinctive side profile subtly echoes the form of a serif letter, nodding to the typeface it’s named after. The raised rear shelf supports a monitor or books, keeping the main workspace clear and focused.
Blending warm oak veneer with powder-coated aluminium legs in deep black, dark Bordeaux, or soft chalk, the Courier Desk is both understated and expressive. Ideal for home offices or studios, it’s a workspace that reflects clarity, intention, and quiet elegance.

Tabletop in solid wood with oiled finish; natural oak or dark oak. The oak (Quercus robur) for the tabletop are sourced from Western Europe and/or Poland.
The base is made from die-cast aluminium with a textured, powder-coated finish.
