Greta Grossman

Swedish designer Greta Grossman was born in 1906. She was a key figure of modernism in both Sweden and America. Her work is now produced by the global manufacturer Gubi. 

She studied at the Stockholm Arts Institution and in 1933 opened her own studio, which acted as a shop and workshop. She went on to exhibit her works in modernist exhibitions at MoMA in New York City and at The National Museum in Sweden. One of these designs was her Cobra and Grasshopper ranges of lights. In 1950 the Cobra lamp winning MoMA's Good Design Award.
