Develius Mellow Modular Sofa | Configuration D by Edward van Vliet for &Tradition.
An evolution of Edward van Vliet's original Devlius design from 2018, the Mellow sofa retains the structural framework of the core Develius family, whilst offering a softer seating experience. An additional padded tier has been introduced, creating an extra gentle layer while preserving the sofa's architectural integrity.
Van Vliet describes the evolution of Develius as a maturation of the entire concept, with the addition of a removable cover extending its overall lifespan.
Central to the design of the sofa is its visual lightness achieved via its black wooden legs that elevate the seat. This feature allows it to easily slot into any room without appearing too heavy.

Materials
The Develius Mellow is crafted from a wooden frame. The seat has no-sag springs and all surfaces are padded in HR foam, covered with a duvet of shredded foam and polyester wadding.
It has metal brackets for connecting the modules.
The modules are covered with a simple inner canvas to make the outer fabric removable.
