In collaboration with Artek, twentytwentyone presents a special edition of the iconic Stool 60, reimagined with a distinctive Karelian birch seat.
This second exclusive edition features a beautifully veneered top crafted from Karelian “Curly” birch, with both the top and legs finished in a rich honey stain. Limited to just 20 pieces, only 15 are available through twentytwentyone in London, with the remaining 5 exclusively at Markanto in Cologne. Alvar Aalto, alongside his wife Aino, were pioneers in human-centric architecture and organic modernism, drawing inspiration from nature's forms and materials. Further influenced by the German Bauhaus movement, their designs pushed the boundaries of plywood craft, with their experimentation beginning in 1927. Together, they created an enduring legacy of furniture, lighting, and accessories, many of which are now held in prestigious museum collections worldwide.
Artek itself marks a milestone in 2025, celebrating 90 years of design excellence.
