Crafted from the heartwood of solid European oak or walnut, each piece is shaped from the tree’s core, where the natural drying process creates distinctive cracks in the wood. These natural splits are not flaws, but essential features that highlight the individuality of each stool.
First designed in 1996, Backenzahn reflects e15’s dedication to material honesty and sustainable craftsmanship. Its wedge-shaped profile, defined by a precise angled cut through the cracked wood, comes from offcuts e15's debut product, the Bigfoot Table.
