The iconic mid-century Bubble Light was designed by George Nelson in 1947 and was first put into production in 1952. The fully rounded sphere delicately floats overhead, providing a soft, diffused light.
Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, the Crisscross Bubble Light boasts an intersecting skeletal frame that adds a captivating contour to the pendant. Its shade emits a soft and diffused light, creating a soothing ambience in any space.
Inspired by a set of silk-covered Swedish pendant lamps that he felt were too expensive, Nelson created his own modest orb lighting series. Rather than silk, he used a self-webbing plastic developed by the military to form the translucent shell over a lightweight, rounded-steel frame.
The renowned pendant forms part of the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art, New York.

Materials
The Ball Bubble pendant is made of off-white webbing polymer with a ceiling plate in brushed nickel. Each lamp is provided with a white PVC isolation cable. Please note hard wiring is required.
Recommended light source (not included): Small: LED E27 (A15) 5-8W, 500-800lm, 2700-3000K. Medium: LED E27(A19) 10-13W, 1000-1500lm, 2700K.
