Lightwood Stool | Low by Jasper Morrison for Maruni.
One of the first projects Morrison designed while living in Japan was the Lightwood collection for Maruni. The collection emerged from a fusion of cultures, with Morrison taking the typology of a traditional European chair and combining it with the lightness of Japanese design.
Morrison describes the collection's seats as contract chairs that are equally suitable for the home. Despite their simple and lightweight appearance, they are incredibly robust, with their wooden frames providing a warmth.
Part of the collection is the low stools, available in a variety of seat finishes, each offering distinct characteristics: a white mesh that leaves the structure partially visible, a woven webbing reminiscent of Shaker furniture, and an upholstered seat that provides additional comfort.

Materials
The wood used in this product is obtained from maple, oak or ash trees in North America that are managed and felled in a planned manner.
All woods are available in either a clear or natural black urethane finish. Oak is also available with a whitish urethane finish.
The stool is available with three seat variations: webbed, made from nylon tape tightened over the surface; flame-resistant mesh; and cushioned, made of fabric springs with urethane foam.
