The Akademia series originated in 2019 when designer duo Wesley Walters and Salla Luhtasela created the Akademia chair. Developed as part of Wesley Walter's thesis work at Aalto University, the chair drew inspiration from diverse cultural sources such as Finnish manufacturing heritage, American Shaker style, and Japanese design traditions. This inspiration is evident in the chair's simple yet elegant frame, featuring softly curved seat and backrest.

In 2024, the collection expanded with the addition of a counter and barstool, sharing the visual aesthetic of its predecessor; clean, vertical lines, and a slender curved plywood for the seat and backrest.

With its minimalist charm, relatively tall backrest, and generous seat width, the high chair ensures a comfortable dining experience even at the bar.
