Series 270 F Armchair

Series 270 F Armchair by Verner Panton for Verpan.

A modernist icon rediscovered, the Series 270 F Armchair by Verner Panton was originally developed in 1965–1966. Recognising its renewed relevance today, Verpan, in close collaboration with Verner Panton Design AG, reintroduces this rare piece for 2025.

Formed from bent and lacquered FSC-certified birch plywood, the chair embodies Panton’s pursuit of clarity in both function and form. Light, structured, and inherently modular, the Series 270 F belongs to a system of three elements that combine into a multitude of pieces, from chairs and armchairs to stools and tables. Its distinctive frame, offered in a vivid palette of blue, red, orange, black, and honey-stained finishes, can be complemented with textile or leather cushions that fit seamlessly into the circular dip of the seat.

Elegant, timeless, and distinctly Panton, the Verpan Series 270 F Armchair brings a subtle sense of movement and character to any interior, reflecting the designer’s enduring belief in furniture that is as inviting in use as it is expressive in form. Its upright posture and supportive contours encourage relaxed seating while maintaining a refined, architectural presence within the room.
