While exploring Venice, Italy, Verner Panton was captivated by the enchanting glow of the city's old street lamps. This fascination fueled his creativity, leading to the inception of the VP Globe in 1969, a design aimed at replicating the same distinctive glow.
The VP Globe is considered one of Panton's most iconic creations, featuring a distinctive layered structure. It incorporates five internal reflectors suspended by three steel chains and an acrylic globe that emits a gentle, warm light.
This version of the design features a transparent acrylic outer sphere and opal white glass reflectors that allow the light to pass through easily.

Materials
Acrylic outer top and bottom shell.
Reflectors are made of hand blown opal white glass. Ceiling canopy is made of metal (white lacquered).
Bulb:
Small: 220v (110v) E14 (E12) max. 60W
Large: 220v (110v) E27 (E26) max. 60W
White ceiling canopy and Megaman energy saving bulb (incl.).
Cord: 400 cm white fabric.
