In 2024, Wallace Sewell introduced the Shetland Waffle Collection, a range of throws and cushions crafted from Shetland wool.
The Shetland Waffle throws offer a contemporary twist on Wallace Sewell's classic honeycomb design. Woven in Shetland wool, they offer a robust finish while retaining their signature bouncy and soft texture. The Hampstead Throw combines rust, diesel blue, and chartreuse tones, framed by ecru and sky blue borders.
The wool for this blanket is sourced from Shetland sheep, bred in the cold climate of Scotland's Shetland Islands. Although not as fine as more commonly used lambswool, Shetland wool is incredibly warm and durable while remaining soft, making it ideal for colder temperatures.
Wallace Sewell textiles are hand-woven in the UK at family-owned mills.
