In 2024, Wästberg re-engineered the w182 Pastille into an aluminium version: the w242 Pastille alu. It retains the same design and high-quality light, now made from partly recycled aluminium, a strong, lightweight, and endlessly recyclable material. Available in the original four colours, it also comes in a new Telegray 4 and a tumbled raw aluminium finish.
The raw finish has no added coatings, enabling efficient production, easier recycling, and graceful ageing. Its textured surface gains character from production marks, and over time, develops a distinctive patina through stains, fingerprints and oxidation.
Designed to reproduce the full colour spectrum of sunlight, the w242 offers a rich, natural quality of light far. A COB LED, large reflector, and concave diffuser provide soft, warm light, adjustable via a dimming button on the vertical pole.
The shade rotates fully and is offered as a desk lamp, with versatile mounting options for clamping to desks or shelves.
