The Lampampe lamp forms part of a series of lamps designed by Ingo Maurer in the 1970s and 1980s, all crafted from Japanese paper in simple forms. Following a rise in the use of plastic as a material, Maurer's collection signifies a desire to return to natural materials.
For Lampapme, Maurer took the form of a conventional lamp and crafted it entirely from Japanese paper, resulting in a lamp that sits at the interface between utility and art object. Visually light and delicate, the design features deliberate wrinkles in the paper, further diffusing the lamp to provide a soft, glare-free light. Due to its size, Lampampe can be used well on low tables or the floor.
Each lamp is crafted by hand in Munich.

Steel frame with Japanese paper. The paper is slightly creased as a deliberate design element.
E27 socket, max. 100 W, bulb not included.
Not suitable for rooms with high humidity.
