The Unio Lounge Chair, part of the Unio Collection of easy chairs and sofas, was born out of designers Timo Mikkonen and Antti Rouhunkoski’s interest in the relationship between wood and soft furniture.
The collection explores form and texture by drawing on aesthetic cues from past decades, brought into the present with a focus on comfort and usability. The result is a seat with a confident, upright presence that encourages a grounded way of sitting, while the soft textiles and rounded forms point to its understated comfort.
The lounge chair features a fully upholstered plywood frame, available in a selection of fabrics, commercial-grade foam, and a solid ash plinth.
The Unio collection was awarded the Warmest Design prize at the Monocle Design Awards 2022.
