Eames DAR armchair by Charles + Ray Eames for Vitra.
Plastic Armchairs were first presented as part of a New York Museum of Modern Art competition, “Low-Cost Furniture Design”. Their organically shaped plastic seat shells were later combined with various different bases and manufactured in their millions. In their latest version made of polypropylene, the armchairs now offer even greater sitting comfort.
DAR stands for Dining Height Armchair Rod Base.
Please note new height was introduced in 2015 - raising the seat by 2cm.
Herman Miller has the sole license for the Charles and Ray Eames collection in the U.S. and the Far East. Therefore the export of these products from the UK to the U.S. is not possible.

Materials
Wire base with cross struts, chromed or powder-coated in basic dark. Seat in polypropylene available in a range of colours. Optional seat upholstery in Hopsak fabric (pdf of colours available to download in Product downloads). View the pdf in the download section to explore upholstery options.
Fully upholstered chairs are available with an option of black or white piping.
All chairs supplied with basic dark carpet glides as standard. Please enquire for other glide options.
