Eames DAX armchair with upholstery by Charles + Ray Eames for Vitra.
Plastic Armchairs were first presented as part of a New York Museum of Modern Art competition, “Low Cost Furniture Design”. Their organically shaped plastic seat shells were later combined with various different bases and manufactured in their millions. In their latest version made of polypropylene, the armchairs now offer even greater sitting comfort.
DAX stands for Dining Height Armchair X-Base.
Also available without upholstery here.
Herman Miller has the sole license for the Charles and Ray Eames collection in the U.S. and the Far East. Therefore the export of these products from the UK to the U.S. is not possible.

Materials
Four-legged tubular steel base, chromed or powder-coated in basic dark. Seat in polypropylene available in a range of colours.
Optional seat or front upholstery in Hopsak fabric (pdf of colours available to download in Product downloads). Front upholstered chairs offer black or white piping. View the pdf in the download section to view the upholstery swatches and available finishes.
Basic dark glides for hard floor or carpet. White glides also available,
