The Pato Paper Sledge Chair and Armchair feature a continuous steel sled base that forms a single connected frame beneath the seat, replacing traditional four legs with a stable, streamlined structure. The result is a practical, stackable design suited to dining, office, and hospitality settings where durability and space efficiency are key. The shell is made from PaperShell, a Swedish-developed material produced from renewable cellulose fibres and bio-based binders sourced from forestry and agricultural residues.
Designed in 2025 by Hee Welling and Gudmundur Ludvik, the collection integrates everyday usability and a progressive approach to material innovation. The tactile surface adds warmth and character, while the robust construction is designed for long-term use and easy maintenance. At the end of its lifecycle, the PaperShell seat can be processed into biochar through pyrolysis, supporting carbon capture and soil regeneration. Combining visual lightness with environmental responsibility, the Pato Paper Sledge collection represents a considered evolution in sustainable seating design.

Frame made of steel tube in a black powder coated or chromed finish.

Side chair stackable up to 18 chairs on floor and 25 on trolley.
Armchair stackable up to 13 chairs on floor and 25 on trolley.
