N–CT01 Coffee Table

N–CT01 Coffee Table by Norm Architects for Karimoku Case.

Norm Architects have taken inspiration from the facades of traditional Japanese architecture for the base of the N–CT01 table. The various wooden components of the table are intentionally spaced apart to create a delicate appearance, allowing light to flow through the gaps while maintaining a sense of stability. The Danish design practice tied in their own heritage by reflecting the minimalist designs of Danish designer Poul Kjaerholm by selecting stone for the table top.

The N–CT01 was designed for the 36 Kinuta Terrace apartments in the Kinuta ward of the Setagaya district in Tokyo. Originally built in 1991, Norm Architects collaborated with the Keiji Ashizawa Design team to renovate the interiors and create 12 custom furniture pieces.
